We do more than just chrun out our own software...
We feel that we create some of the best pieces of software out there today, but what if you need a solution to a problem we've never tackled in a commercial product before? The answer is actually pretty simple (you are looking at our service's page, after all): we will be happy to create a solution for you!
We focus on usability, security, and extensibility in every project we work on regardless of its size and importance. Looking for a very specific software application for the Palm webOS platform? We will not only create a product for you, but we will do our best to ensure that the product is easily maintainable, extensible, secure, and usable. We want you to be happy with our work and get the most mileage out of the solution we provide. We won't architect software applications that we know won't grow with your company or product.
So, what separates us from the "other guys"? Let us show you, in bullet-list fashion:
- Competitive pricing. We're a small company and are not looking to break your bank account just to create a solution for you. Let us know any budget constraints you may have and we can sit down and work through exactly what we can do and how we can make your application extensible, so that if you can't afford to put every feature you want in now, you can easily do so in the future.
- Usability. We've found multiple consulting companies that will give you a solution that technically meets your requirements but is costly in staff training. We think that's dumb. We will work with you through the entire process, deliver design and functional mock-ups, and overall, we do our best to streamline any solution you need into a workable, cohesive piece of software that requires as little training as possible.
- Security and quality. We use unit tests to try and cover every possible way your application could break or weaken. We use industry-proven methodologies when developing solutions to ensure that we deliver the most secure software. There are many attack vectors that hackers, crackers, social engineers, or even angry IT personnel use to break into software applications and compromise their security. We will do our best to cover these attack vectors and educate our clients on any risks when planning the development of their software.
- Extensibility. Don't you hate it when you pay a consultant (or consulting company) to create a piece of software for you then, either upon delivery or when you may need it the most, you realize it was thrown together and it's difficult or impossible to actually extend the application? We hate that too, and we've seen that throughout the software development industry. Here at BinaryIdiot, we will do our best to make your software easy to extend and maintain. We don’t want you to have to come back to us. We want you to want to come back to us. We will also provide extensive documentation on your solution's architecture, maintenance information, and anything else prevalent that we find (or if you request something specific).
Great, so you know what we're about and what we say we can offer you, but what can we really do? Well, quite a bit, actually...
- Web Applications. We can provide very advanced and professional looking web sites and applications on Windows or Linux platforms using ASP.Net or PHP technologies. While we primarily focus on development using ASP.Net and MS SQL Server, we have completed many applications utilizing PHP and MySQL.
- Mobile Applications. Have a great idea for a Palm webOS application? Want an iPhone application for your company? We have experience developing mobile applications for the webOS and Windows Mobile platforms with some currently on-going iPhone software projects in the pipeline. We are even adaptable to explore and move into BlackBerry or s60 platforms if necessary.
- Games. Everyone loves games and, obviously, by my previous claim, we do too! We have worked on and developed games for Microsoft's XNA platform for use on the XBox 360, Windows, and Zune platforms. We even have experience working with Windows Mobile and Palm's webOS for game development. We are also adaptable to work in other spaces and platforms such as OpenGL / DirectX and Mac OS X. We currently do not staff 3D modelers, however, but can arrange to get 3D models completed if necessary.
