About BinaryIdiot
A brief look at BinaryIdiot's history and what we're all about...
Our History
BinaryIdiot was created by Kris Siegel in 2003 and was more of a hobbyist website than anything else. BinaryIdiot.com was used for creating and testing different web technologies as well as different usability practices and user interfaces. BinaryIdiot.com was an outlet for many free applications and services including the following:
- News portal – BinaryIdiot.com reported not only the latest technology news but offered multiple articles ranging from different programming techniques to movie reviews.
- BinaryEdit – A syntax editor with an extensible template system and support for multiple programming and scripting languages.
- BinaryDBASE (formerly known as BinaryCRM) – A web application that includes the ability to create client profiles, create cases for each client with note taking capability, monitor expenses as well as an advanced search feature for each client or case.
- ScreenSaver Com and BinaryBreak – Both cross platform applications (one written in C++ and the other in Java) with very basic abilities controlling the screensaver and a break timer.
Today
After multiple site revisions that tested the limits of multiple web technologies, BinaryIdiot became a company in 2006. BinaryIdiot, however, remained quiescent until 2009 due to pressing time constraints on BinaryIdiot’s founder and owner Kris Siegel and was eventually formed into an LLC in the same year.
